Government of Serbia and the city of Belgrade together on new infrastructure projects

The Government of Serbia and the City of Belgrade will continue to work together on infrastructure projects. As in the case of Belgrade metro, Government of Serbia will be an investor in the project of constructing a new bridge over Sava River.

That is why Government of Serbia has formed a special Working Group to support the construction of the new bridge over Sava River in Belgrade, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic PhD.

The members of this working group are representatives of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic and members of the City of Belgrade's expert services, representatives of CIP Transport Institute and Republic Property Directorate.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihajlovic emphasized that the new bridge over Sava is a project of great importance not only for the City and that it is a complex project that must be successfully implemented.

"I expect that Audit Committee will review the conceptual design as soon as possible, then finalize the project design documentation and start construction of the new bridge and access roads," Mihajlovic said.

At today's session of the Working Group, the Rules of Procedure were established and the dynamics of the next activities agreed upon, including negotiations on project financing.
