Mihajlovic: Everything is ready for release of the entire Eastern fork of Corridor 10 for traffic

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic PhD., said today that everything was ready to open the last sections on the Eastern fork of Corridor 10.

“We are ready to commemorate the completion of the entire 86.9 kilometers long stretch from Nis to Bulgarian border tomorrow, together with contractors, construction workers and all the officials. Serbia has completed Corridor 10 and there is no at meter on this road that is not under the asphalt, " Mihajlovic told TV Prva.

She pointed out that Serbia may never have had a year like 2018, in which the Southern and Eastern forks of Corridor 10 were completed and released for traffic, and by the end of the year, a total of about 120 km of highway Milos the Great will be ready for traffic."

“Whenever we had new highway sections, we also had new factories and more transit traffic. So we must not stop, that is why we are starting to build new highways. We have already started to build sections Sremska Raca - Kuzmin and Preljina-Pozega, we are soon signing a contract for construction of the highway and high-speed road Ruma-Sabac-Loznica, and we are expecting the beginning of works on Moravian corridor and the first section of Nis-Merdare highway, from Nis to Plocnik,” Mihajlovic said.

Deputy Prime Minister will visit today the newly constructed sections from Prosek to Bancarevo, 22.5 kilometers long, which will be released for traffic tomorrow.
