Mihajlovic visited the construction site in Zemun: We are building apartments for police officers who guard Serbia

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, phD, visited today with ACting Director of the Construction Directorate of Serbia, Mirko Petrovic, works on the construction of apartments for members of the security services in Zemun.

Mihajlovic reminded that the works in Belgrade started in March this year and that 1,000 apartments for police officers and soldiers are being built.

"I did not happen to be at the construction site in Belgrade today. Not only is this an important project, this is important for all those people who guard Serbia every day and fight with sticks, knives and hooligan attacks every day. The state thinks of its police officers and soldiers," she said.

Mihajlovic said that with all the problems that Serbia, like all countries in the world, have at the moment, construction is working.

"It's not easy for anyone, no contractor. But all of our construction sites are working and more than 5,500 people are working on them. "I believe that we will be able to save people's health, and on the other hand, that construction will help us save the economy, because it is as big a blow to it as it is to people's health," she said.

Mirko Petrovic stated that the first phase will be completed by the end of 2021, the second in March and the third in May 2022.

“There are apartments of all structures. There is a need and interest for larger apartments, and we will build accordingly in the next phases as well," he said.

Dalibor Cucak, technical director of the company "Samex Group", the contractor, said that the total gross area is close to 20,000 square meters, and that parking spaces, playgrounds for children and other facilities are planned in the settlement.
